Which classes are in ArcheAge Chronicles?

XLGAMES' October 8, 2026 press release names the four classes of the current development build in Korean: 격투, 야성, 마법 and 철벽. Those are the names of the original ArcheAge skillsets, whose official English translations are Battlerage, Archery, Sorcery and Defense — the same naming is used below. XLGAMES has not yet published an English class list for Chronicles, so treat the English labels as matching the series naming rather than a confirmed Chronicles string.

How do weapons work?

• Four classes, each with two weapons — eight weapons in total, per the Steam Early Access notes.
• A third weapon for each class is planned, added during Early Access.
• XLGAMES has not said which weapons belong to which class; no pairing is listed here until it is confirmed.

What is combat like?

In the same press release, executive producer Ham describes combat as reading the opponent's movements and judging dodge, parry and attack timing yourself. The Steam page lists close-quarters melee, deadly ranged attacks and powerful magic, with the ability to jump, fall, roll, dash, block and parry — not tab-target combat.

Gender-locked classes

Class gender options are limited in the current build. In the October 18 producer letter, Ham said development of additional gender options is underway: they will be introduced gradually, starting with select classes rather than all classes at once. The changes are not in the Next Fest demo; XLGAMES will share more about the rollout later.

Skill trees, builds and DPS numbers

No skill tree details, class builds or damage numbers have been published for Chronicles. Until XLGAMES or the Early Access build provides them, any build guide you see elsewhere is player invention, not official data. What is confirmed about each class's scope is summarized in the Early Access plan.
